I received an unsolicited email from one of those people who usually email out stupid stories of disabled kids and encouraging everyone to hug more.

This time it was a list of reasons to hate Muslims. Why was it sent to me? No idea.

Maybe it was because they wanted me to waste two of my precious sunday aftrnoon hours while I researched the below.

Here are some examples of Christian violence against other religions from recent times in case you get the same or similar emails.

• In the last 2 decades, over 150 medical professional have been seriously injured and more than a dozen killed by Christian extremists in North America, mostly because they worked at or with staff at abortion clinics
• In 1994 over 900,000 Rwandan natives were killed by the Christian ethno-religious majority in one of the worst bloodbaths of recent history
• 300,000 Muslims were killed, and over 100,000 Muslim women raped by the Christian Serbs in the modern Balkan wars between 1992-95
• An activist branch of the Baptist Church of Tripura (in India) called the National Liberation Front of Tripura has carried it share of the war for Christian Values into the middle east; In 2001, there were 826 reported terrorist attacks in the area, in which 405 people lost their lives and 481 kidnappings
• The Thailand based Christian terrorist group “God’s Army” has killed thousands of people in the last 10 years and dislocated over 10,000 people in the Thai/Burma border regions.
• In 1998 alone The Lord’s Resistance Army (Uganda) kidnapped over 6000 children in Uganda from the local tribes and villages and sent them on death marches. Those that didn’t die on the forced marches ended up fighting for the LRA or being shot as part of the other kids training. Did I mention that the LRA also kidnaps the female children in the region to use as sex slaves for the soldiers or as part payment for the arms they buy from North Africa? Sources estimates there are about 3000 young 'uns currently being held.
• Closer to home; between 62,805 – 68,832 civilians have been killed by the Christian US/Coalition forces in Iraq in the last 3 years. I wouldn’t want to be a Muslim in Persia!
• And because the email also cited Muslims killing Jews, I’ll throw in a Jew killing Christians example; last July Israel went on a bombing spree on the Christian nation, Lebanon, killing 1,123 civilians (30% were younger than 13 years old)
• I just noticed there is also a reference to the crusades. You realize that when the Christians took Jerusalem they were often inclined to rape the women then kill the whole civilian population
• A BBC news article estimates a kill ratio of more than 20 Muslims for every Christian dead at the hands of religious based warfare, terrorism, or hate crime
